Waterschool Activities:  Access to safe water / Hand-washing / Water and Climate Change

  

Implementation of activities at the school: The programme of the day started with a visit to the water installations carried out within the framework of the project as support to the ongoing initiative of the school to render potable water accessible. A total of two slide-show presentations were given. The first presentation was focused on “Potable Water and its impacts in Cameroon” and the second presentation was on “Climate Change”. The water school film was projected as well. As part of activities, water containers were offered to the school by LANEC followed by outdoor demonstrations on proper hand washing techniques to pupils and teachers in an effort to fight germs and COVID-19. The activities were marked at intervals by fun time and laughter with the presence of a renowned comedian.


Other interesting facts about the school: The execution of the project activities at the Caleb Bilingual Nursery and Primary School generated a lot of enthusiasm and excitement at the levels of teachers and pupils of the school. This is evident from the position vibes that resulted from the execution of the project. The presentation and demonstration sessions were very interactive registering full participation from the teachers and pupils on Water and Climate Change. The execution of this project has provided support to the school initiative to have access to potable water and has also raised awareness on importance of water and climate change. The waterschool film that was projected also enable participants to see what is done in other countries. Furthermore, the demonstration activities on good hand washing techniques has edified teachers and pupils and contributes to the fight against germs and COVID-19.

Nkuo Rosine. She was very elated by the presentation and expressed her satisfaction. She admitted that she learned a lot with regards to Water and Climate and impressed by the demonstration on good hand washing techniques. She also indicated that, the demonstration permitted her to have a different perspective on how to wash our hands properly and will definitely lead to a change in behaviour.
